M-BELT is Hiring!

We’re looking for an Administrative Professional!

The Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust (M-BELT) is pleased to announce the creation of a permanent, part-time Administrative Professional position. This new role marks an exciting step forward in strengthening our organizational capacity and ensuring long-term support for our mission.

About the Position

This is a part-time, independent contractor role, offering approximately 10 hours per week at a rate of $25/hour. While most work can be done remotely, some local in-person tasks may be required. We strongly prefer candidates who reside in or near Medford, Massachusetts.

What We’re Looking For

We’re seeking someone with at least three years of administrative experience, ideally in a nonprofit or community-based setting. The ideal candidate will be organized, communicative, detail-oriented, and enthusiastic about local history, environmental conservation, and public service.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative support for Board meetings (scheduling, agendas, minutes, and follow-ups)
  • Pick up and manage physical mail; log donations and forward to our Treasurer
  • Manage email, newsletters, and donor/member communications
  • Track grants, membership renewals, and donor correspondence
  • Support the logistics of events, tours, and volunteer activities
  • Maintain accurate and organized online files and update our organizational handbook

Why It Matters

This position is an important investment in M-BELT’s continued growth. By bringing in dedicated administrative support, we aim to lighten the load on our board and volunteers, improve communication, and sustain the behind-the-scenes work that helps preserve the Brooks Estate and engage the Medford community.

How to Apply

Interested candidates should email a resume and short cover letter to inquiries@brooksestate.org with the subject line: Administrative Professional Application. Applications will be reviewed on a rolling basis until the position is filled.
