Spring Spruce-up - Saturday, April 29, 2017

10 a.m. to 2 p.m. - meet at the Shepherd Brooks Manor

Come work for an hour or a morning! Gloves and tools provided, but pruners, lopers, etc., welcome. Wear work clothes. If you want to paint, wear paint clothes. CSL credits given for Medford students -- please bring a permission slip from a parent or guardian, and any CSL paperwork.

Some of things we hope to accomplish:

  • spruce up the Boardwalk to Brooks Pond (painting)
  • spruce up Grove Street entrance
  • clean Manor interior
  • touch up the green gates (painting)
  • trail maintenance (litter, trimming, etc.)
  • Manor Yard work (rake out flowerbeds, etc.)
  • rake out gravel/dirt in front of Carriage House / Manor

Location and Parking Rules for Spruce-up on April 29

Please meet at the brick Shepherd Brooks Manor at the end of the access drive, up from the green gate (blue sign) at 275 Grove Street in Medford. (Grove Street is off High Street/ Route 60 in West Medford. The Brooks Estate is about 8/10 of a mile north, just past the black gates to the Oak Grove Cemetery. Look for the blue sign / green gate. . .

IMPORTANT - EVENT PARKING RULES: Best to walk in at the green gate and blue sign at 275 Grove Street, and then walk up the access drive to the end. Limited spaces are available at the Boardwalk lot along the access drive, and at the Manor, with preference at the manor for handicapped parking. Do not park in the Oak Grove Cemetery. Do not park along the access drive. Do not park on Grove Street.

HANDICAPPED PARKING: If you need handicapped parking, drive slowly up the access drive to the Manor (the road is bumpy, be careful). Someone will show you where to park: please follow instructions (we have had a lot of experience.)

Spring Open House - Saturday, April 29, 2017

2 to 4 p.m. - meet at the Shepherd Brooks Manor - last tour 3:40 p.m.

Come for an introduction to your Brooks Estate. Tours of the Manor and grounds. If sufficient interest, we'll do a walk around the Estate as well. Refreshments will be served and donations are welcome.

M-BELT Board Meetings

Generally, Second Wednesday of every other month at 7:00 p.m., but schedule may vary
