ANNUAL MEETING - November 4, 2017 (Saturday)

1 p.m. at the Shepherd Brooks Manor (275 Grove Street, Medford)

Notice is hereby given that the 2017 Annual Meeting of the Medford-Brooks Estate Land Trust, Inc. (M-BELT), a Massachusetts non-profit corporation, will be held on November 4, 2017 at the Shepherd Brooks Manor (Brooks Estate), 275 Grove Street, Medford, Massachusetts, 02155, at 1 p.m. local time, for the following purposes:

To elect a President of M-BELT, Inc., from the membership for a term commencing November 5, 2017 and ending as of the date of the Annual Meeting in the Year 2018; To elect two members of the Board of Directors from the membership; To transact such other business as may come before the Meeting.

Paid members are eligible to vote for a President and 2 Directors. Nominations for President and 2 Directors may also be made by paid members.

Program: Everything is Connected: Six Degrees of Brooks Separation

Illustrated talk by Doug Carr

Over their nearly 300 year tenure as one of Medford’s most prominent families, the Brooks Family left behind a deep legacy with countless links to different people, places, and institutions throughout the world. In this informative and entertaining presentation, M-BELT Board Member Doug Carr will explore the Brooks Family's relationships with different cities throughout the United States and connections with modern architecture, the American Revolution, H.H. Richardson, Frank Lloyd Wright, John Singer Sargent, Claude Monet, Isabella Stewart Gardner, two Governors, a Senator, and Barbara Streisand (!).

Unless you require handicapped parking, please park off Grove Street to the left and walk in at the green gate / blue sign at 275 Grove Street, and up to the Manor. If you need handicapped parking (at the Manor), or wish to drop off passengers, please drive in at the green gate and up to the Manor at the end of the access drive. Please note that the access drive is somewhat bumpy. (There are also some car spaces at the Boardwalk lot on the left side of the access drive.)

Brooks Estate Guided Walk

November 11, 2017 (Saturday) - 10 a.m. - meet at the green gate at 275 Grove Street, Medford

Come for an hour-long leisurely walking tour of the Brooks Estate that combines history, nature, fresh air and some healthful exercise. Led by Tom Lincoln. No pets, please. Co-sponsored by WalkMedford.
